Hello! I am Kelsey.
I began working as a professional pet groomer in 2014 after Graduating from the Nash Academy Of animal arts. But that isn’t where my passion for animals started! Growing up I discovered my love for furry things when I started horse riding lessons in elementary school. Several years later I joined a dog 4-H club with my new Golden Retriever puppy. I learned how to train, care for and understand how dogs think from some awesome 4-H leaders. One of my favorite aspects of the showmanship competition, was getting my golden retriever clean and ready. I absolutely loved trimming her up and figuring out just how the AKC professionals made their goldens look so perfect. I knew in my last year of 4-H I was going to be a groomer when I graduated. I researched pet grooming schools with top quality hands-on programs and found The Nash Academy of Animal Arts.
Over the years of working in several different shops, I gained invaluable knowledge from more experienced groomers. I had the pleasure of working with Brenda Robinson(Wanderdog Mobile), and she taught me almost everything I know about grooming new puppies, she also taught me to have a bag of tricks to stay free of frustration when working with those pups that are full of personality!
Learning new grooming and styling techniques is one of my favorite hobbies. I am ecstatic when I get a call to groom an uncommon breed of dog or put a popular breed into an alternative style. Whether it’s a Shih tzu in a modern teddy bear trim or Poodle in a traditional English-saddle trim I love them all.
